Dear Editor,
The front-page item seemed very irresponsible on Migrant News' part (Issue 35, 2007).
I refer to the (Korean) boy-racer who was apparently beaten after a 20km chase from Auckland Airport to Panmure.
Are not the public sick of these young men?
People and lives are placed in danger by kids screaming around in high-powered vehicles.
We see black tyre marks on roads. We see deep tyre tracks on parks where they have veered off the road, unable to take a corner.
We hear the engines and wheels screaming late at night. Roadside trees ae smashed down, beer bottles left scattered.
Last but not least, HUMAN LIVES are endangered.
Migrant News' item did not describe what he had done, all the trouble etc he had caused.
Would it not contribute something far more positive if the second-to-last page's item, 'The allure of zero fees' had been placed first?
Or why not get one of the 'boys in blue' to state, anonymously, what they have to deal with? Who would want their jobs?

How much trouble did he cause everyone else first?
I must pass this observation about your "Boy Racer" story. The lead character certainly looks to have been beaten up by someone. Yet, one glance at the fellow makes anyone wonder just how much trouble he would've first caused everyone else!
Every code of behaviour chosen, is always answerable to an end result. Yet, people will howl in surprise ... when it arrives.
